Uterine Spa (Vaginal Steam)

Known in Central America as Bajos (ba-hoes) or in Korea as Chai-yok, these vaginal steam baths have been used around the world for centuries to foster good uterine health.

Uterine Spa or Vaginal steam baths are used to assist in the cleansing and healing of the uterus in conjunction with Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® for the treatment of numerous female symptoms.

Benefits:

Side Effects:

  • Temporary increase in menstrual flow (more dark fluids, debris)

  • Menses may start early due to cleansing effect

Best Used:

No more than three times in a moon cycle and is best five to ten days before the menses is expected to occur.  If you are actively trying to get pregnant, please consult your ATMAT practitioner or Holistic Fertility Expert prior to doing a Uterine Spa treatment.

Plants:

Most commonly used are marigold, oregano, basil, and rosemary, motherwort, St. John’s Wort, yarrow, chamomile, damiana, red clover, dandelion, yellow dock, squaw vine, horsetail, Mexican wormseed (epazote).

You can use any combination of these plants.  Collect your plants using prayer and intention of healing. If using fresh plant; about 1 quart, if using dry; about a cup.

Special Notes:

  • Formulation consists of aromatic, cleansing herbs that will penetrate in the uterine wall.

  • DO NOT add essential oils to the steam – the may burn sensitive genital tissues.
